Higher Student loans board was established in 2004 and become effective 2005 to grant loans to the students for further studies and more important Higher Education Loans Board worked with Various Partnership Including RITA and NECTA and its major function is to provide loans to Students for further education and each year open window for applicant especially form six leaver to apply for loans so as to attain their dream although not all applicant are allocated loans due to various reason such as incomplete form.

REQUIREMENT FOR LOANS APPLICATION

Every year Higher Student Loans Board provide guideline book which compose all basic information about loans application in specific year and its almost provided before opening the window for application of loans and it is a duty of an individual who wish to apply loans to pass  through it for further understanding about loans application. More important there are some requirement which remain common all years. Such common requirement include:-

1.Birth certificate Verified by RITA.

Birth certificate of applicant is very important for application of loans from HESLB as it identify your nationality and other basic information like Fathers and mothers names and more important not only birth certificate but Certified by RITA as HESLB works together with RITA .So before applying loans from Higher Student Loans Board make sure you have submitted your Birth certificate to RITA so as to be certified for loans application.

2.Form four Certificate

Also applicant of loans from Higher Loans Board should have form four certificate but more required is form Four Index number. So before starting application make sure have form certificate and you form index number as it’s much important before starting application from Higher Student Loans Board. Important to note make sure the form four index number used to apply loans match with the index number used to apply university.

3.Guarantor Identification card.

Other important information required is Guarantor who can be either parents or relatives or guardian. Guarantor id can be National Identification Card, Voter registration card, Driving License, Tanzania passport, Zanzibar Residence Id.

APPLICATION COSTS

Like application of universities and verification of birth certificate also Application of loans from Higher Students Loans Board HESLB is not free as there are Fees for application. As applicant of loans required to pay Tsh 30000/=  through Control Number which will be generated by Online System.

HOW I CAN APPLY LOANS FROM HESLB?

This is question is asked by form six leavers frequently but its answer is  that in application of loans from HESLB students required to visit OLAMS which stand for Online Loan  Application System where he or she will required to open an SIPA account for starting application also after applying online he or she will required to submit hardcopy of form with all attachments to Postal to be transferred to Higher Students a loans Board for further process.
