Jeshi la Kujenga Taifa ( JKT) Background
JKT was established by Law No. 16 (National Service Act, 1964) revised in 2002 section 3(1). This law was passed asking young people to volunteer to join JKT to serve the nation. The young people were required to have at least completed basic education, members of TYL, not married or married and be ready to volunteer to serve the nation for a period of two years.
